One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. Our room AC wouldn’t work. It would turn on but never got under 80 degrees. It was a miserable experience and the room had a musty closet smell. And very strange but they had no sheet on the bed, only a top sheet and comforter. We asked for a fan, and they had none. They offered to move us but said the other rooms would be the same and that was the coolest our room could get. We didn’t sleep at all, but had no other choice. I do not recommend this to anyone. Foi uma experiência miserável e o quarto tinha um cheiro de mofo no armário. E muito estranho, mas eles não tinham lençol na cama, apenas lençol de cima e edredom. Pedimos um ventilador e eles não tinham nenhum. Eles se ofereceram para nos mudar, mas disseram que os outros quartos seriam os mesmos e que era o mais legal que nosso quarto poderia ter. Não dormimos nada, mas não tivemos outra escolha. Eu não recomendo isso a ninguém.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The property was very nice and we had a great ocean view from our balcony. The staff was accommodating in storing our luggage when our flight arrived 5 hours and allowed us to park our rental car in the parking garage before check in. The breakfast buffet had lots of great options every morning. The hotel is located in a great area close to lots a restaurants, grocery stores, malls and is a short walk to the center of Funchal. A equipe foi atenciosa em guardar nossa bagagem quando nosso voo chegou 5 horas e nos permitiu estacionar nosso carro alugado na garagem antes do check-in. O hotel está localizado numa excelente área perto de muitos restaurantes, mercearias, centros comerciais e fica a uma curta caminhada do centro do Funchal.

We stayed four nights at Melia Madeira. The location of the hotel is excellent. Many restaurants close by, walking distance. The beach is also nearby. We rented a car picked up at the hotel. You can park in the hotel's indoor garage. The room is spacious. We love our terrace and it has an ocean view, with no obstruction. However, I do find my room is a little dated. The staff is very friendly. They are polite and make you feel very welcoming. One day, my wife couldn't find one of her rings or she might have dropped it somewhere in the hotel. We gave the description to the front desk staff, hoping to see if someone could find it. Fortunately, they did find the ring and they were kind enough to ship it to us. We had a good time in the hotel. It was clean and luxurious. The staff was super friendly. The buffet was one of the most delicious buffet I tried. The buffet had a lot of choices. It is suitable for all. I eat lots of Pastel de Nata. There are also many good nearby restaurants. The nearest bus station is within walking distance. Exceptionally clean, spacious, luxury, and friendly hotel. The upgraded us with an executive suite as the given room's bath was not smelling best. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly. Overall, it is mid-range hotel. The room size is big enough for two. We had overview room with sofa bed, with balcony. Bathroom does not have enough countertop space for my toiletry stuff. Interior is bit of outdated. Breakfast is pretty large of selections, but the items are all common stuff, lack of specialty from Maderia, or Portugal, It is about 30 minutes walking to downtown.
