We stumbled upon this restaurant and are so glad we did. Right away from the friendly service, the great atmosphere and awesome menu, we were impressed! We ordered the grilled sardines, fried cod, and the squid and it was all equally delicious. Would highly recommend! The best like “hole in the wall” discovery. I just discovered it while walking around the neighborhood in Lisbon. And to my surprise, one of my favorite food discoveries in my entire Euro trip. Food was amazing from sardines to dessert (pastel de nata). Staff were amazing & wonderful. I was solo and they checked on me all the time making sure I got my order well & good. I also love writing and leaving memories on their wall. People’s handwriting made it such a personal and artsy experience. Don’t miss this out when strolling around the streets of Alfama in Lisbon. Place can get crowded so better be there early. You Must not miss out on this cute but delicious place. Price is also good and serving is huge. I also love their free cherry wine! E para minha surpresa, uma das minhas descobertas gastronômicas favoritas em toda a minha viagem ao Euro. A comida era incrível, da sardinha à sobremesa (pastel de nata). A equipe foi incrível e maravilhosa. Eu estava sozinho e eles me verificavam o tempo todo, certificando-se de que recebi meu pedido bem. Também adoro escrever e deixar lembranças na parede. A caligrafia das pessoas tornou a experiência muito pessoal e artística. Não perca esta oportunidade ao passear pelas ruas de Alfama, em Lisboa. O lugar pode ficar lotado, então é melhor chegar cedo. Você não deve perder este lugar fofo, mas delicioso. O preço também é bom e o serviço é enorme. Eu também adoro o vinho de cereja grátis! Definitivamente voltaria aqui quando estiver em Lisboa.

Small, charming and quirky place, might have to wait to get in but once in you’re treated like family by the super friendly and kind staff. It might not be great for a large group because of the small and intimate space. We had sardines, prawns, cod, grilled chorizo, salad and rice pudding. All of it was very fresh and tasty. We went for lunch and then dinner the next day where we were welcomed back like old friends 😊 Was a highlight to our Lisbon weekend trip! Pode não ser ótimo para um grupo grande devido ao espaço pequeno e íntimo. Comemos sardinha, camarão, bacalhau, chouriço grelhado, salada e arroz doce. Tudo isso era muito fresco e saboroso. Fomos almoçar e jantar no dia seguinte, onde fomos recebidos como velhos amigos? Foi um destaque para a nossa viagem de fim de semana em Lisboa!

If you want amazing service, authentic Portugese food and a charming atmosphere then look no further. We came both days on our 2 day trip to Lisbon! We didn’t have to wait in any queue too on Saturday & Sunday. We had the grilled chorizo, mixed salad, fried cod, garlic shrimp, and sardines and it was all 10/10, so fresh. Definitely check it out! Maybe we were unlucky but everything we ordered was awful (beef pica-pau was blue, dry sardines and worst of all raw pork pica-pau). We waited for almost one hour for the food, we ate a little and left. We did not want to send back to the kitchen and wait another hour. The service was ok. I saw other people enjoying their meal so I don’t know. I would not risk and try again. Felt like tourist trap (Traduzido pelo Google) Talvez tenhamos tido azar, mas tudo o que pedimos foi horrível (o pica-pau de carne era azul, a sardinha seca e o pior de tudo o pica-pau de porco cru). Esperamos quase uma hora pela comida, comemos um pouco e saímos. Não queríamos mandar de volta para a cozinha e esperar mais uma hora. O serviço foi bom. Vi outras pessoas aproveitando a refeição, então não sei. Eu não arriscaria e tentaria novamente. Parecia uma armadilha para turistas

Amazing little restaurant for a traditional Portuguese meal. The restaurant is tucked away, but is extremely popular. We got there for 7 and all the tables were already full (seemed people had been queueing prior to open). We were lucky that we didn’t have to wait too long for a table, maybe 15 minutes, but as the evening went on a huge queue started to form. But it is definitely worth the wait! I have coeliac disease, so the waitress went through what was gluten free, which was quite a bit of the menu. We had the shrimps to start, and then shared the sardines and the traditional bacalhau a bras. All the food was amazing and the atmospheres and feel to the place was very cozy. Chegamos lá para 7 e todas as mesas já estavam ocupadas (parecia que as pessoas estavam na fila antes de abrir). Tivemos sorte de não termos que esperar muito por uma mesa, talvez 15 minutos, mas com o passar da noite uma fila enorme começou a se formar. Mas definitivamente vale a pena esperar! Eu tenho doença celíaca, então a garçonete passou pelo que era sem glúten, o que era uma parte do cardápio. Para começar, comemos os camarões e depois partilhámos as sardinhas e o tradicional bacalhau à bras. Toda a comida era incrível e a atmosfera e a sensação do local eram muito aconchegantes. Definitivamente vale a pena uma visita.
